Actually, becoming an Immortal should be the greatest achievement in Diablo Immortal. However, some players now report that they prefer to do without this honor. To do so, they even lose the deciding battle on purpose. The “rabble” simply has it better.
What kind of fight is this? In Diablo Immortal, the 2 factions of Shadows and Immortals fight against each other throughout. In the eternal “cycle of conflict”, they constantly test who is suited to protect and rule the world.
Here, then, the “kings” are crowned, and they are constantly opposed by the “rabble” to ensure that they are indeed the best. The conflict culminates in an epic 30 vs. 1 battle that few see and in which the chief of the immortals becomes a real raid boss with special abilities.
Immortal should be the highest aspiration of all players. But now there are doubts as to whether this is really so desirable. Because the immortals probably don’t have it so good.
What the players are saying: In a thread on reddit, a player states that he left the Immortals faction before the end of the reign. It simply lacked the raid of the treasury, which shadows can do regularly.
He lacks candidate keys, gold, and experience. The Horadrim legacy can hardly be carried on because of the lack of resources. The events that immortals get instead of the raid are no substitute for the lack of Legendarys and Co. There is also another problem:
Your pool of available players drops to under 300, meaning finding a group becomes infinitely harder, especially on slower servers like the one I play on. I understand that you can still use the dungeon finder, but with cross server messages creeping in right now, hardly anyone does. Posting in world chat is also an option, but not ideal.
Many players have a problem finding groups in Diablo Immortal and are thus excluded from progress. The user gets approval from dozens of other players, some of whom even say, “We lost on purpose. Only to be able to become shadows again.
The biggest problem, he says, is that the immortals’ system is built on stacking special bonuses, so you only really progress on certain days. On all other days, there is a lull.
Others report quite elitist thinking. One feels obligated to make one’s contribution – otherwise one is kicked out of the guild by the boss. The clans empty out because no one new can join, and at some point nothing works anymore.
“Immortals need a makeover”.
That’s why players think shadows are better: According to players, Shadows’ daily tasks are more enjoyable to complete, especially for casual players. The contracts can be done on the side and even linked to other activities like dungeons.
You have to work less to hold a good reward at the end of the week. Immortals actually get a much bigger reward, however there are some black sheep here that can ruin everything:
Diablo Immortal: player kicks everyone out of clan just before important event, allegedly steals 55 million gold
In addition, Immortals get a huge raid, Kion’s Trial, as compensation. This is designed for 48 players – but can then only be done by 48 selected players.
Ideally, immortals should rotate so that everyone gets something out of it. However, this is not happening. Players are therefore calling for a revision of the immortals’ tasks so that they play a bit more smoothly.
There are quite a few players who have been Shadows and Immortals. We talked to one of them, who has been playing every day since release, and asked him what he thinks of the system: Hardcore fan plays Diablo Immortal every day: “After 2 hours, the air is usually gone”.
